History is nothing but time repeated. Infact time is the ultimate reality in which human sapiens breath. It is the memory of the sapiens that recall the actions passed and takes the shapes of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is a trick of human memory otherwise nothing exist in this sequence. Time is a single dimension phenomenon and does not have the capability of turning back. It is only the human memory that gives a historical shape.

The Pakistanis have been told in practical terms that the future Prime Minister of Pakistan will be a person who would be electing by the majority of Hindu votes from Therparker. Earlier on the majority of minority votes has turned the tables in India and Sardar Manmohan Singh is now the Prime Minister of India because of the votes of Muslims of India. The Gujrat massacres of Mussalmans pulled down the die hard Hindu Vajpayee and helped to win a Christian Sonia. So in fifty seven years of the independence it appears that history has come around full circle bulldozing the achievements of our elders.

What a shame. The Mussalmans had ruled India for more than seven hundred years but the tricky British under Lord Clive penetrated of the Bengal province of Indian with the help of treacherous commander-in-chief Mir Jaffer. Sicne then Mir Jaffer has become a dirty word in our lexicon. This ugly episode in 1757 at Plassy, within the next eight years, the same fate awaits Mir Jaffer at the hands of his own son-in-law. The story is complete in an other hundred years when the poorly organized resistance movement by the India is suppressed successfully by the British in 1857. The King is banished and three sons mercilessly beheaded. The figure fifty seven through a strange spell on the historical events of India and Pakistan.

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan thought that after the British left the Sub-continent, there will be a civil war between Hindus and Mussalmans and whoever survive among these two nations, he will rule India. Allama Iqbal wrote moving poetry and prose that weld the scattered Muslims of the Sub-continent into a viable nation. It felt to the lot of a great leader Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to lead the Muslim nation to the pinnacle of the success. He advocated the two nation theory so forcefully that India had to be partitioned into Muslim India that is Pakistan and Hindu India that is Bharat with some spread out minorities from both the communities in the two countries.

In a presidential address of 1930 Allama Iqbal came out with an exact formula as to how India be partitioned and divided into two sovereign countries. The Central thought of this formula was that wherever the majority of the Muslims live which geography were north-west and north-east of India that it would be declared as Muslims state that is Pakistan where the right to rule base on the democratic principle was the right of the Muslims. He considered the remaining India to an independent Bharat where Hindu had the right to rule. Perhaps it was the most suitable solution to very tangled problem of caste, creed, geography and history. In 1940, the Quaid-e-Azam put this demand formally from the platform of All India Muslim League and in 1947 got it conceded. But unfortunately like Mir Jaffer, General Ayub Khan betrayed this formula and deprived the people of Pakistan from nationhood. The General became the nation himself and usurp all that was meticulously earned the great personalities like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The General annotated to himself the role of the nation. Now it was but logical that when the nation is taken away from the equation the two nation theory was bound to became hollow. The successors of General Ayub Khan continue to follow his folly. No it was but logical that a time was bound to come after what General Ayub Khan and his successors has done that the lines differentiating the two nations caught blurred. So no surprise that after fifty seven years because of the blunders of the Generals, history has come around with full circle and vengeance where circumstance have been through up where the Hindus of Therparker will elect person as the future Prime Minister of Pakistan like Sardar Manmohan Singh of India. God helps us perhaps we have gone astray.
